Digital photo painting takes digital photography to a whole new level.

You can develope your own artistic style and use a gazillion techniques to create masterpieces to decorate your home or give as gifts.

The possibilities are endless! Photo editing software makes it all possible.
Photoshop 7.0 and CS2 are my personal favorites.

Here is a list of some of the interesting techniques that you can use to enhance, paint, morph and create YOUR own style of digital photo painting. This is just a sampling of what tools are available for painting your digital picture with editing software: sharpening images,removing dust and specs, dry brush, fresco, sumi-e, watercolor, solarize, glowing edges, poster edges, ink outlines, neon glow, sponge, several types of brush strokes, variations in shadows, highlights, and midtones, saturation of color, desaturation, black and white, posterize, and one of my personal favorite tools...the magic wand.

There are really too many possibilities and combination of tools and techniques in photo painting to name them all.

You will play for hours on end and always come up with several unique variations for just one digital photo.

I shot this lighthouse image on Tybee Island in Georgia.

These photo changes reflect the use of using a watercolor tool and posterizing effects.

This simple shot of a pot of impatiens was done with a watercolor tool.

The next set of impatiens were saturated with color and glowing edges.

This final set was taken with the St. Louis Arch as my backdrop.

The special effects were created by using the "magic wand".

As you can see, the magic wand makes this photo absolutely sparkle with pizzazz!

There are a myriad of tools available for digital photo painting.
I have found it to be quite advantageous to be able to put my digital photos to good use through photo painting and it helps me develope my own artistic style. There is no doubt in my mind that you will, too!
